March 3 ? Scrapbooking! | A Better Me Day By Day

I LOVE to scrapbook. I got into it when I started dating my DH and I made the first scrapbook to save all of our momentos from dates and such. That scrapbook starts from our dates and ends when we got engaged. The plan was for me to then make another one for the ?wedding planning process?, then another one for ?the wedding? (of course), eventually the kids would come?they would each get their own, etc., etc., etc.

Well, due to circumstances? the only thing I did was START my oldest?then had to stop the hobby for a while. Eventually I started to work on at least starting my youngest?s because she asked me why she didn?t have one as she looked through her sister?s. ?But, neither of their books are close to where they should be. Actually, they should probably have more than one by now? and we?re barely getting through age 1 for either one of them in their books. Time is SUCH a luxury for me when it comes to doing all these extra hobbies, which I REALLY enjoy, but there usually seems to be so much going on and things that I REALLY do need to take care of that all this other stuff becomes secondary. Specially when DH is not home.

Anyway, point being that I LOVE being able to work on these things. I LOVE watching the girls sit and go through their scrapbooks and family photo albums and recall events and such. And I LOVE that the girls Love this art of memory keeping. They actually have enjoyed scrapbooking with me for the past few years. And, I actually started a group to scrapbook together with others, but was asked to not have children there and since my girls actually enjoy doing it, and it was taking me away from being able to do something that is good quality time with them (it was separating me from my family and we were getting ready for my DH to transfer, so it made no sense to go do something that I couldn?t even share with them), I had to stop doing it. Though I REALLY miss it, now my time has gotten pretty complicated with a lot of other projects and I guess the girls and I will just have to continue to scrapbook alone.

Still we don?t get to do it as often as we would like to, so we thought this month would give us the right opportunity to scrap one day and hopefully get a few hours in. And, today is that day!

SO, get your scrapbooking paper, photos, embelishments, glue dots, tapes, stickers, ribbons, scissors, or whatever else you wish to use and create something today with your little one. This can be a page you add on to a scrapbook you?ve been working (or meaning to work on), the starting pages of a scrapbook you want to work on, or you can scrapbook some nice photos and frame them for decor that will be completely personalized, unique, original, and more meaning than just about any other ?art? you can hang up. :) (Hey if you don?t scrapbooking? perhaps you can have the kids go through family photos and set up their own mini-photo album that THEY can keep? my kids LOVE having their own books? whether scrapbooks or photo albums. They can make drawing of the family, write quotes, letters to different family members, etc., to add to the photo album.)

Today I plan on working on some pages for each of the girls, so that we can add them to the scrapbooks we?ve been working on for a bit.

The girls have already, also, picked out their papers and they are ready to scrapbook! I think we each have ideas of what we want to do? I can?t wait to see the girl?s pages. :)

We?ll post some pics later of what we end up with. :)
